The two women, who both suffered severe burns which changed their lives forever, reached out to each other on social media.

Perth-based Dana, 31 – who was doused in methylated spirits and set alight by a jealous woman who wrongly thought she was sleeping with her husband in 2012 – published a book about her ordeal ‘Worth Fighting For’ in August.

‘I’ve just read this in one evening!’ Katie – who was horrifically burned in an acid attack in London in 2008 – wrote on Instagram about the book.

‘Shocking in places, inspiring and probably only a small glimpse at what @dana_vulin has had to endure – I urge anyone who hasn’t read this book to buy read it and pass it on to someone they know.’

British model Katie – whose attack was ordered by a jilted lover – has spoken candidly of her own gruelling daily struggle in the aftermath of the horror, revealing she has had 250 operations on her face.

Dana has also undergone more than 200 surgical procedures since her own nightmare.

In her book, she recalls the horrific moment she caught fire.

‘The flames were everywhere: my shoulders, my naked stomach — only my boobs were protected by my tiny boob tube,’ she writes.

‘The flames spread to my head, my hair went up in seconds, and when I reached up to wipe the burning chemicals off my face, my hands were already on fire.’

After seeing Katie’s post, Dana responded, saying she had ‘so much love’ for Katie, 37, who is currently pregnant with her second child.

‘When someone you absolutely look up to posts about you and your book,’ Dana wrote on Instagram, reminding her followers that part of the proceeds of her book go to the Fiona Wood Foundation.

‘So much love and admiration for this girl @katiepiper,’ she concluded.
