Broadway’s Ruthie Ann Miles loses unborn child months after losing daughter in tragic car crash

Broadway star Ruthie Ann Miles is facing another tragedy.

The 35-year-old Tony Award winner and husband Jonathan Blumenstein announced that the have lost their unborn child just two months after their 4-year-old daughter Abigail was tragically killed by a car back in March.

Ruthie’s lawyer told the New York Daily News: ‘At the time of the crash Ruthie was pregnant and was severely injured. This past Friday Ruthie and Jonathan lost their baby, Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein.’

‘The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is nearly impossible to fathom,’ they added. 

After the crash, it was reported that Ruthie‘s unborn baby was unharmed. Ruthie would have given birth to her daughter later this month.

The four-year-old daughter of Miles and a toddler died after being mowed down on a New York street. The pregnant actress was left fighting for her life in hospital. 

Authorities claimed at the time that an out-of-control driver killed two children in front of their horrified mothers in New York City on Monday. One toddler, Josh Lew, was dragged around 30 metres down the road while still in his pram. 

The other child, Abigail Blumenstein, the daughter of Broadway star Ruthie Ann Miles, was run over and killed. 

Miles ‘was bleeding from her head. They had to cut her coat off’, bystander Leah Finnegan told the New York Post at the time. 

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said a full investigation was underway regarding the tragic crash.
