Britney Spears spent a staggering $11m [AUD $13.6m] in 2016 on her lavish celebrity lifestyle, according to a new report, and now there are fears her extravagance is spinning dangerously out of control – requiring her to reign in her wild spending.
The Oops I Did It Again superstar, 35, is still under formal supervision in the form of a family conservatorship, following her infamous breakdown in 2008.
Court papers detailing her annual financial outgoings – released as part of her ongoing financial arrangement with authorisers – were obtained by America’s In Touch magazine.
They reveal her staggering outlay, which the magazine broke down by the numbers complete with price tags for each expense.
According to In Touch, Britney spends almost $30,000 [AUD $37,500] on pet care, close to $60,000 [AUD $75,000] on personal travel and near enough $70,00 [AUD $87,400] on her personal wardrobe.
House expenses and cleaning services are said to set her back a cool 2 million-plus [AUD $2.5 million], with personal grooming, hair & makeup tallying almost $150,000 [AUD $187,250] and a further $174,000 [AUD $217,000] allegedly set aside for her mother, Lynne.
An insider told In Touch, “She is basically a child under the eyes of the law, and has to get her dad [Jamie]’s permission to do anything.”
Britney has yet to respond to In Touch’s article.
