Disgraced A Current Affair star Ben McCormack has reportedly been taken to hospital after failing to report for bail at Redfern Police Station on Monday.
Speaking to 9news the 42-year-old’s lawyer, Sam Macedone, confirmed that his client is currently undergoing “assessment.”
“All I know is he is in hospital for some kind of ailment,” Mr Macedone said.
Just last week the Channel Nine veteran reporter was charged with using a carriage service for child pornography material.
Ahead of a scheduled court appearance on May 1, the star was granted bail under strict terms that required him to report to the police station twice a week.
But today Mr Macedone advised officers that his client would be unable to attend and instead provided them with a medical certificate.
He also confirmed that he would be applying to vary the senior journalist’s bail conditions while he seeks treatment in hospital.
