A boy, 10, was flung from a waterslide at a waterpark in Dublin, California.
Video footage of the incident shows the child hurtling down the three-storey ‘Emerald Plunge’ ride and flipping over the edge of the slide at the end, before skidding along the concrete.
Dublin Assistant City Manager Linda Smith was there at the time of the incident and confirmed the boy was OK.
‘He got up immediately and as any boy would be, he was stunned,’ she told the East Bay Times. ‘I was worried if he was mentally OK, but physically he just had some scrapes.’
The slide had only been opened 90 minutes earlier and has been closed until further notice.
‘We’re not going to open it until we know what happened,’ Smith revealed.
