In a bizarre twist to the detention of Aussie teenager Jamie Murphy in Bali on suspicion of carrying drugs, it has been reported late this afternoon that the white powder allegedly found on the teen outside a Bali nightclub is in fact harmless paracetamol.
According to a report by News Ltd, police sources in Bali have stated off the record that lab tests on the powder, found in a small plastic bag, have failed to find any sign of illegal drugs.
Blood and urine tests have also reportedly failed to find any sign of illegal drug use.
The teen was facing up to 12 years in jail if he was found guilty of drug possession. There has yet to be any official statement on the matter, or official confirmation of the test results.
