Two sisters have been found dead on a bed in their luxury Seychelles islands hotel room.
The siblings, who both worked in finance within the United States, had been drinking while on holiday in the islands located just off East Africa.
Annie Korkki, 37, and Robin Korkki, 42, were declared dead on the scene at the Maia Luxury Resort and Spa.
Described as ‘healthy and experienced travellers’ according to news.com.au, the women were from Minnesota’s Eden Prairie and were due to leave the islands on September 22, but extended their trip.
There was no sign of violence found by police at the scene.
A police spokesperson said, ‘From the observation done by our police officers, there was no disturbance in the room and the two sisters were found unresponsive on the same bed.
‘What the police can say about the investigation so far is that the two sisters were consuming alcohol throughout the day… and the last time they were seen drinking alcohol was at around quarter to seven and they were helped to their bedroom by hotel personnel at around 8.15pm.’
