The manager of the Bogota hotel room where accused drug mule Cassie Sainsbury stayed before her arrest has unveiled new details about her sole visitor.

Ingrid Hernandez said the blonde’s only company was a well-dressed local man named Angelo, who Sainsbury claims tricked her into smuggling almost 6kg of cocaine out of Colombia.

“Normal height, normal build,” Hernandez told The Daily Telegraph.

“He could have been in his late 20s, 30s. He had short brown gelled hair.”

Hernandez also told the publication that the 22-year-old rarely ventured out of her $50 a night lodging, despite claiming she was there on a business trip.

“She was alone most of the time in her room,” she said.

She said the Adelaide woman drew the attention of staff as she arrived on April 3 without a reservation and paid for her accommodation only two days at a time.

“When she arrived I was in my office but the front desk asked for my help because Cassie did not speak any Spanish and our receptionist did not speak English,” she told the publication.

“It is unusual for tourists to arrive without a booking, particularly if they are a young woman alone like she was.”

Although Sainsbury has explained that she doesn’t know the surname of Anglelo, her lawyers have said they are desperately searching for further information about his whereabouts.
