Du Bois, who announced last October that his cancer had returned, revealed on Channel 10’s The Living Room, that a plasmacytoma myeloma that was first felt in his neck in 2010 has resurfaced ‘reasonably aggressively’.

At the time the 57-year-old R U OK ambassador went on to explain that he was set to to undergo intensive chemotherapy and stem cell treatment while in line for a transplant.

Today, speaking to the two radio hosts Amanda Keller and Brendan Jones, Du Bois revealed that he is feeling ‘pretty good’ and believes his body is responding better than what his doctors believed it would.

‘I’ve got to say last night was the best night I’d had for a while,’ he reveals. ‘I feel great.’

Keller tells listeners that Barry had been in hospital having a ‘double dose’ of Chemotherapy, after a previous four rounds of Chemo earlier in the year.

‘I’ve had a rough week there’s no doubt about that,’ the Living Room host tells. ‘It’s been a struggle but overall but I feel pretty good.’

Barry and Amanda, who have both worked for several years on Channel 10’s The Living Room, are both appearing on tonight’s episode in a special story on cancer research.

While speaking about the story set to appear, Amanda gets extremely emotional, stating: ‘I just miss you, I really miss you.’

Barry responds, also holding back tears, ‘It’s great to have the support that I’ve got with you guys and all our Living Room extended family.

‘All the nurses, all the doctors [say] the positive attitude that you can carry into something like this, and the honest support [I receive], will help me fight the fight.’
