Whether you have children or not, you would have heard the viral sensation ‘Baby Shark.’
The children’s song has become a YouTube sensation over the past several months, and has even made its way into spin classes, nightclubs and more.
Baby Shark’s YouTube video has been seen over 1.6 BILLION times!
The most recent version is by South Korean kids’ entertainment company, Pinkfong. But, what you probably didn’t know is that the song’s origins go all the way back to a 1990s children’s rhyme.
While the lyrics seem pretty stock standard for a children’s song, including a series of ‘Doo doo doo doo doo doo’s,’ the Irish Times reports the song was once slightly more sinister.
Apparently an English translation of an earlier version of the song ends with the singer first losing an arm to the shark…then dying.
