A video posted by a Tasmanian woman of a Hobart sunset has sparked speculation that alien life has landed in Australia’s southernmost state.
The clip was posted to Facebook by Tassie resident, Lee-Anne Peters, who was capturing a photo of the beautiful sunset, before zooming in on a bright fireball that appears to have streaks of debris or flames coming from it.
But it’s not time to roll out the welcome wagon for E.T – Airservices Australia confirmed that it was just a plane with its vapour trails being illuminated by the setting sun.
Ms Peters says at first she thought it could be many things:
‘It was very slow moving, not like the high jets I’ve seen before. I got out the binoculars and thought it must be a meteorite,’ she told the ABC.
‘xI was sure it was something burning up from space … but now, I am sure it was just a plane with the sunrise highlighting its contrails.’
Of course comments want to disagree, some even saying that the ‘flying plane’ story is just a cover-up for the truth.
Other claim that it’s moving ‘too slow’ to be an aircraft, and others demanded satellite tracking from airports to confirm a plane.
