It appears another writers’ strike may be on the cards in the US, more than a decade after the last one in 2007.

The Writers Guild of America West claim that the average pay of TV writer-producers fell by 23% over the last two years, while studios have profited.

As protest, around 12,000 WGA members will vote to decide on if the strike will go ahead, and it could happen as soon as May 1!

According to the NY Times, late night comedy shows would start to roll our re-runs if a strike were to take place and reality shows such as Big Brother would still go ahead, but the writer-producers would likely have different contracts.

The last Writers Guild strike lasted for for 100 days in 2007-8.
