The world’s tallest water slide is set to be demolished, after a horrifying accident that saw the decapitation of a ten year old boy, who was on an outing with his family.
The ‘Verruckt’ ride at the Schlitterbahn park in Kansas City will be torn down, ‘once the investigation is concluded and we are given permission by the court,’ confirmed the company in a statement.
‘In our opinion, it is the only proper course of action following this tragedy. All of us at Schlitterbahn have been heartbroken over the tragedy that occurred on Verruckt.
The Independent reports witnesses said Caleb Schwab, the son of a Kansas politician, ‘was decapitated’ when he flew off the slide and hit a safety net.
The ride is more than 51 meters tall and typically sees two to three people strapped to a raft before descending 17 storeys and then propelled back up five storeys by rushing water.
