After beating Matt and Bianca in the instant death round, Ibby opened up to New Idea about his personal competition journey.
"During the show, many times I actually spoke to Romel about me just quitting," the 30-year-old admitted.
"Honestly, I just was really hating it. There was a lot of things, that I was just like, 'I just need to get the f**k out of the show. This is really effecting my mental state. I don't need this s**t.'"
But after opening up to his best mate, Ibby was able to confront his demons.
"I changed my mind and talking to him, I knew how much he wanted it," Ibby told New Idea.
"I knew how much it meant to him and I just felt it was unfair. Every time I just go back and be like, 'No, I can't do this to Romel. I'll just give it the best we can.'
And Ibby couldn't be happier and pushed through with his teammate. "Now that it's all done and thinking back, I thank God for not quitting.
"I've learned a lot of things, not only about myself but about this production, about the shows and it's an experience that honestly, not many people will have but the ones that do have, are lucky to have."
