The sister of convicted drug trafficker, Mercedes is now set to join Studio 10 as a panellist on Friday, where she will give her first television interview since Schapelle's dramatic homecoming five months ago.
The news comes after another surprise announcement from Network Ten that former Bachelorette Georgia Love had been promoted to Ten News Melbourne anchor.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Mercedes told 26,500 followers: 'Tomorrow morning I will be the fifth panelist on Studio 10. The show starts at 8:30am on Channel Ten.'
The photo featured the regular Studio 10 presenters, including Sarah Harris, Jessica Rowe and Ita Buttrose.
At this point it's unclear if Mercede's Studio 10 debut on Friday will lead to regular appearances on the popular breakfast TV program.
However, Studio 10 executive Rob McKnight made clear she will be discussing an array of topics as panellist and won't be solely addressing the Schapelle saga.
In a statement the exec said: 'As our fifth panellist on Friday, Mercedes will get to share her thoughts on a wide range of subjects and I think Australia will be surprised by the person they think they know, but have barely scratched the surface of.'
