However, the latest question on everyone’s lips is whether the Duchess of Sussex is secretly expecting a multiple pregnancy.
Rumours are rife in the UK that 37-year-old Meghan is expecting not one, not two, but three babies.
During her first royal engagement of 2019, a trip to Merseyside, in England with husband Prince Harry, the former actress, wearing a purple shift dress and contrasting red coat, revealed to excited fans that she is having an April baby.
Royal observers were quick to notice that the heavily pregnant duchess’ bump had grown rapidly in size since her last public appearance in December.
When asked how she was managing to still walk in high heels she laughed and stated that she was just taking it “one day at a time”.
Meghan could barely contain her excitement as she told well-wishers “We’re ready, we’re so excited,” before adding that the baby will come "when it's ready" and "one of my friends was saying she was five weeks early, so you can never really gauge".
And with UK bookies slashing the odds of Meghan having triplets to 50-1, experts are now weighing in on the rumours.
Dr Joseph Sgroi, a Melbourne-based obstetrician, gynaecologist and IVF specialist, says that around the 14-week mark, the position of the uterus means the bump is really showing.
He added: “The uterus accommodating three babies would be much bigger than a standard pregnancy.
“We normally say for a single baby that the size in centimetres relates to the number of weeks.
“For twin and triplets, this, of course, would be much more, with the size several centimetres bigger.”
She may be heavily pregnant, but the former Suits star isn’t slowing down the pace. Later on in the week she paid a visit to the Mayhew Animal Home in North dazzling Roland Mouret gown – as she and Prince Harry attended a charity performance by Cirque de Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall, in London.
“Meghan looks quite big for six months.
“I remember when I was pregnant with my triplets I was about the same size. Like me, she’s got a slim build, so her bump could mean she’s having more than one baby!” suggested one royal fan.
It was previously speculated that Meghan was expecting twins, and while there hasn’t been a multiple pregnancy in the royal family for almost 600 years, last year UK betting site Paddy Power reportedly received such a rush of bets that the royal couple are having twins that they stopped allowing any more to be placed.
And with another three months still to go until she gives birth, it’s no wonder Meghan’s prominent bump has raised eyebrows.
