And just hours after it was revealed President Trump and the First Lady will be visiting the UK in June, reports have emerged indicating the Duchess of Sussex will not be making any time to meet with them.
"I'm told that there are no plans for Meghan to meet President Trump," former royal editor Duncan Landcome told Fabulous Digital.
He explains: "Not as a snub because - how shall we say - it's a quite convenient period of maternity leave so she won't be working."
In 2016, Meghan labelled Trump "divisive" and "misogynistic" and revealed she was voting for Hillary Clinton during an interview on The Night Show with Larry Wilmore.
"I'm voting for Hillary Clinton, not because she is a woman but because Trump has made it easy to see that you don't really want that kind of world that he's painting," the 37-year-old said at the time.
Despite this, Mr Landcome admits he feels the former Suits actress probably would meet with the president if she wasn't on maternity leave.
"I think the comment Meghan has made in the past before she met Harry, before she married into the royal family were one thing, but everything has changed now," he explains.
"Yes she said things in the past, but they are in the past before she knew she'd one day be a royal and sit in a banquet with President Trump. Little bit awkward."
