While Meghan and her husband Prince Harry are settling into a content life and getting ready for the arrival of their first baby together, Princess Margaret was more well-known for her controversial choices and partying lifestyle.
Podcast hosts, journalists Rebecca Hyde and Angela Mollard, claimed that despite their differences, Meghan does indeed share some similar traits with "one of the most controversial royals of all time."
"In some ways Princess Margaret was like the Duchess of Sussex," they said, wherein "they both straddle the celebrity and monarchy [worlds]."
“We know that Margaret had great friendships with people like Dusty Springfield and Peter Sellers, and through her husband she was very enmeshed in the celebrity world and the great and the good.”
Margaret's husband was Lord Snowdon, who was a photographer and film-maker.
Interestingly enough, Harry has now been brought into the world of showbiz through Meghan due to her making her career in Hollywood as an actress, most notably in the TV legal drama Suits.
The presenters also discussed Meghan's friendship with Amal Clooney and how she reportedly helped the fresh royal settle down into the London life.
Another common interest between the two ladies is the fact that Meghan is a divorcee while Margaret fell in love with the divorced Peter Townsend.
Her relationship with Peter caused a crisis in 1953 in which she had to choose between her royal life and her love life.
Margaret and Meghan are also both well-known for their sense of style.
The hosts stated that while things did not end well for Margaret, they hoped it would end well for Meghan.
