Marina also revealed that Meghan is the perfect person to become Patron of Smart Works.
"She has done so much research. That’s what I’m so impressed by. It’s not some honorary thing, she really cares," she said.
"She’s amazing at talking with the candidates because she really listens and asks very pertinent questions."
The charity that supports vulnerable and unemployed women regain the skills and confidence to return to work, through access clothing and training for job interviews is just one of four new patronages that the Duchess will champion.
- In addition to Smart Works, Meghan chose animal charity Mayhew and the Queen has passed on both the patronages of the National Theatre and the Association of Commonwealth Universities to Meghan.
"The Duchess is delighted to become Patron of both national and grassroots organisations that are part of the fabric of the UK, and is very much looking forward to working with them to bring wider public attention to their causes,” a statement from Kensington palace read.
“Her Royal Highness feels she can use her position to focus attention on, and make a particular difference to these organisations and, more widely, the sectors they each represent."
