The Woodstock Exchange – a creative hub in one of Cape Town's trendiest suburbs – played host to the event, which was held to bring together local female entrepreneurs to share their stories, and showcase how their unique skills and mentorship are changing the face of employment in South Africa.
“I find that so fascinating, it's such an interesting concept, by empowering these women from those backgrounds they are changing the focus of their communities and empowering the next generation," said Meghan.
The 38-year-old had raised eyebrows for a very different reason earlier in the trip, when fans noticed she wasn't wearing two very important pieces of jewellery during the royal tour of South Africa.
Royal fans have noticed that both her engagement ring and eternity ring have not been on the Duchess of Sussex's hand.
Instead, Meghan has chosen to only wear her gold wedding band and a Jennifer Meyer turquoise marquise ring.
As for why she ditched the sparkly accessories, a source told People magazine that Meghan wants to be more "low key" during her engagements in South Africa.
The Duchess has also been recycling her dresses from her 2018 Australia and South Pacific tour, wearing several dresses for the second time over.
Meghan visited the District Six Museum in the same sky blue dress she wore to her visit to Tonga's Tupou College with Prince Harry. And she re-wore the same striped Martin Grant Maxi Dress to the British High Commissioner's residence that she wore when she visited Bondi Beach in Australia to meet a local surfing community group dedicated to raising awareness for mental health.
Interestingly, both are dresses the duchess wore shortly after announcing her pregnancy with the couple's son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor – sparking speculation that Meghan and Harry could be gearing up for a second pregnancy announcement on this trip!
According to Express, the photos of Meghan wearing the same blue dress she wore during her pregnancy on the first day of the tour have created a buzz online amongst royal observers, with one user writing "Meghan Markle changes into the same blue dress she wore when she was pregnant last year on Royal Tour!”
In a following royal engagement, Meghan donned a striped maxi dress that she'd also worn soon after revealing she was pregnant with Archie.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET. "This dress was significant because she stepped out in it just days after announcing her pregnancy, which I think has led to some speculation that 'Could we be hearing imminent news of another royal baby?'"
