Meghan Markle had only one request with her Vogue cover

Meghan Markle had one simple request when it came to the cover shoot for British Vogue's iconic September issue.

According to photographer Peter Lindbergh “his instructions from the duchess were clear: I want to see freckles”.

Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful said both he and Meghan agreed that Peter was the right person for the job.

"It was one of those brilliantly spontaneous moments when HRH The Duchess of Sussex and I had exactly the same idea at exactly the same time," Enninful said. "Peter sees beauty in real people, in real situations. He makes everybody feel their best."

The mother-of-one had previously worked with Lindbergh for her 2017 cover story with Vanity Fair.

She told the publication at the time that she was "thrilled to work with Peter because he rarely retouches and he believes in such little makeup."

"I gave him a big hug and said, 'I am so excited to work with you because I know we will finally be able to see my freckles!'" the 37-year-old added.

Meghan’s British Vogue issue focuses on women who have the power to change the world.

The cover features 15 women, including New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

The former Suits actress has shared several updates on social media.

Taking to @SussexRoyal's Instagram account that has 9.2 million followers the video shows the 15 game-changing women across fashion, film, tech and so much more, which the Duchess handpicked.

The clip also shows Meghan with her arm around British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, showing how close the two became.
