Meghan Markle's makeup artist recently shared an intimate post of what a catch-up with the royal looks like, and it featured tea, chocolate truffles and slices of avocado toast.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the former Suits actress' close friend Daniel Martin shared a snap of their delightful meal, captioning the post, " "Back to our Tig days...❤️ Thank you Meghan for being the consummate hostess this weekend and still being the #avocadotoast whisperer, YUM! 🤷🏻♂️ 🥑🍞☕️"
Although the snap delighted many fans of the Duchess - as well as avocado devotees - some social media commentators dubbed the snack 'bland'.
One commented on the post: "I'm surprised there isn't any chopped red onion and diced pimento in there to give it some colour and taste. These look very bland to me!"
Another took issue with the contents of the afternoon tea, writing: "I thought hi-tea in London must have scones."
Martin is a longtime friend of the royal and was the makeup artist behind her elegantly natural look for her royal wedding to Prince Harry in May last year.
Prior to becoming the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan was a self-professed foodie, often sharing her own healthy recipes onto her now taken-down blog The Tig.
In Septemeber, Markle launched and wrote the foreword of her charity cookbook, Together: Our Community Cookbook, a collection of global dishes by women from the Grenfell community and others, which aims to raise funds to expand their culinary work at the Al Manaar, a Muslim cultural heritage centre.
A recipe for her "favourite" avocado and green chile dip features in the cookbook, so we think it's safe to say that the Duchess knows her way around a nice avocado or two.
