In October 2016, Prince Harry purchased a piece of diptych artwork titled Everybody Needs Somebody To Love by artist Van Donna from the Walton Road Gallery in Kensington, London, just weeks before going public on his relationship with Meghan Markle. Although Harry has not spoken about the purchase, PEOPLE revealed that Harry had asked if the dual piece could be split in half and shared between two people.
A London art collector told PEOPLE that, "It's a very romantic gesture," as, "It's a bit like a charm bracelet where you give half of it to someone you're involved with and keep the other half yourself."
Van Donna has now announced that a limited edition t-shirt bearing the artwork is available to purchase for between $50AUD to $75AUD and comes in a variety of sizes, so you too can own a piece of work that is in the royal art collection. The shirt is available in a variety of men's, women's, and children sizes and was created in collaboration with F-O-M-O.
The artist added in a tweet, "Hope #PrinceHarryAndMeghan will pick one (or two) to match their painting!"
The 100% cotton top features a hand-pulled screen-printed image of a young boy and girl strolling hand-in-hand in black and white. This image forms half of the artwork purchased by Prince Harry, with the second half of the artwork being the words "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love".
In an Instagram caption, Van Donna said, "I would have never imagined it would receive so much attention and love.. feeling grateful," and, "I remember being over the moon when I saw it framed for the first time".
The limited edition t-shirt is the second time the artwork has been scaled-down with a limited edition range of 1/4 size prints becoming available in July 2018.
