The newly minted Duchess of Sussex is said to share a "close bond" with Prince Charles thanks to their deep interest in art and culture, but new footage suggests the pair have another thing in common - their sense of humour!
WATCH: The moment Meghan and Prince Charles share hilarious joke
The video clip - taken on March 11 - shows a heavily pregnant Meghan enjoying a private joke with Charles at a Westminster Abbey service for Commonwealth Day.
The former Suits actress reportedly grew close with Queen Elizabeth's eldest son when she was left in the lurch by her own father, Thomas Markle, after he pulled out of last year's royal wedding at the last minute.
The 70-year-old stepped in to walk Prince Harry's bride down the aisle, and since then the duo have been photographed laughing and giggling in each other's company at numerous official engagements and royal outings.
Meghan, who is due to give birth to her first child next month, looked resplendent in an emerald Erdem look for the first part of the day before changing into a chain print midi dress by Victoria Beckham and a quirky pillbox hat.
The mother-to-be also did her best to put rumours of a royal rift between her and Kate Middleton to rest at the event, when the two Duchesses' warmly embraced one another and exchanged kisses on both cheeks.
