Megan Gale has helped raise $50,000 for a Melbourne based charity with just one Instagram post.
St Kilda Mums - a group that gives away new and used baby goods - posted a moving story across social media of a young mum-to-be who was considering adoption because of financial hardship.
“At this late stage in her pregnancy, and with little in the way of savings, she is not prepared to bring her baby home. She doesn’t know anyone who can pass on their preloved baby gear.
She does not want to give up her baby but she cannot afford the cot, pram or car restraint, let alone clothing. It doesn’t need to come to this. You can help her bring her baby home,” the heart-wrenching post read.
Gale - who recently welcomed her second child - took to social media to help raise money.
“I came across this post yesterday and it made me feel so incredibly sad for those that find themselves in these positions in life but also it put into perspective how we often take things like baby cots and car seats for granted,” Gale wrote.
Donations exceeded $50,000 in less than 24 hours.
