Another day, another Married At First Sight star's acting gig hits the headlines

Hot on the heels of Channel Nine’s denial that Married at First Sight is a scripted drama full of wannabe actors and bit part desperados, contestant Sam’s history as a player in the Netflix drama Secret City has today come back to public notice. The revelation comes amid of string of editing scandals and increasing public attention on details of the format.
With a grand total of eight contestants now confirmed as actors, Sam’s role comes at an awkward time for the show, which is experiencing growing scrutiny of the contestants’ backgrounds and motivations
Sam played a CPP Officer in the Secret City episode 'For Whom The Bell Tolls', and confirmation of the part follows revelations he was also a bit player on Home and Away as a River Boy associate.
The reality TV player once had a fame-hungry profile on website Star Now, which included the boast that 'I have a tendency of making people say "wow" after every experience.'

While the show is heavily populated with spotlight-hungry figures from the very outer fringes of the entertainment industry and Instagram, producers maintain the series really is a serious search for love by genuine people.
‘The brides and grooms are not hired actors,’ explains producer Tara McWilliams. ‘They are not given scripts or lines to recite.
‘Of all the false things this show has been accused of, this is easily the most ridiculous.’
Well that's reassuring.
