The pair then got into an explosive fight which saw Andrew storm out of the apartment before telling producers that he wanted to go home immediately.
While Andrew did come back and chose to write "stay" at the Commitment Ceremony, the two came to blows once more after Holly was unable to forgive him for his behaviour.
"I feel that you're demonstrating a bit of narcissistic behaviour if I'm being honest with you," Andrew told his bride, leaving her stunned by the comment.
"You're entitled to your perception," Holly said. "On that note, I shan't let you insult me anymore. I think we're done. I think I'm going to show you the door."
Following their explosive fight, the pair arrived separately at the next dinner party, where things reached a breaking point once they clashed yet again.
“I almost went home Holly, but I care enough about you to be here,” Andrew said, referring to his decision at the Commitment Ceremony to write down “leave”, before changing it last-minute to “stay”.
“You almost went home – you should have gone home,” Holly fired back, and while Selin tried to mediate and reconcile the pair, Andrew had already made up his mind.
“I’m going home tonight, it’s time to go home for me,” he said. “In fact, I think it’s about that time now.”
After saying his goodbyes, Andrew left the dinner party and walked off set – leaving Holly to face the next Commitment Ceremony alone.
On the night, expert John Aiken confirmed that he had in fact left for good: “[Andrew] has decided not to be a part of the experiment any longer."
It was on the couch that Holly shared an emotional letter with the group and expressed how she was “silenced” by Andrew.
“Andrew took my voice, and he silenced me. This is my voice, and believe me, I am here right now to speak for the people who in a relationship have been silenced and who are not believed,” she said.
She then revealed her very obvious decision to leave the experiment, making her and Andrew the first couple to call it quits this season.
So where does this leave things for the two outside of the show? Well, Andrew already confirmed he's moved on with his romantic life, revealing he now has a new partner who he dated prior to the show.
"It’s somebody I was with previously and then kind of fell off. And then yeah, it kind of got sparked back up," he told Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa.
He also confirmed he hasn’t kept in touch with Holly since leaving the show, and has no plans to change that.
"I still have a problem with her not being accountable to anything she says. She found it hard to do that," he said.
"But at the end of the day, if I saw her on the street, I'd be nice to her and I have no ill will towards her. And like I said I want her to be happy."
As for Holly, it would seem that Andrew is far from her mind as the bride has also confirmed she's is in a new relationship.
During an appearance at Fitzy and Wippa’s annual MAFS Dinner Party, the 35-year-old revealed she was indeed coupled up and “happy”.
“I had known him before,” she said, before adding that they bumped into each other when she was heading to a Melbourne Cup lunch.
Making it Instagram official, Holly also shared a new snap with her beau, and revealed they were off for a weekend away together.
