As soon as David moved into his newly built home, things got spooky.
From knocking noises while no one else was at the house, to silhouettes of people walking by outside in an area where it wasn't possible to walk, to wine glasses spontaneously being thrown across the room, weird things happened.
By 2004, things had gotten even worse.
David said he was awakened by what he told LA Weekly was, "a full body apparition at the bottom of his bed pointing towards the driveway which leads to the murder site."
The figure made, "no sound," David said, "He gestured three times and then just disappeared."
Any thoughts it was just a dream were squashed when he saw a photo of Jay Sebring, Sharon Tate’s hairdresser, who'd also been killed that fateful night. The man he saw materialise at his bedside looked exactly like Jay.
While the Cielo Drive killings were no secret, according to the article, David began to wonder if there was a connection between the spooky sightings at his home and the horrors that had unfolded next door.
"I began to think to myself, maybe they were trying to escape the house, and run down the driveway and seek help from the neighbours," David said in an episode of the SyFy channel's Paranormal Witness, centred on his experiences.
David continues to live at the property, and according to LA Weekly he's grown used to the ghosts who live there with him.
“I always felt like I wasn’t alone here, but I’m not afraid," he told the publication.
"And I do know life is more than just what we see. Besides, I’m way more scared of the living than the dead".
