Back home and living with her parents in Perth, former Married at First Sight star Tracey Jewel reveals she’s still undergoing therapy after her stint in a mental-health clinic.
'I was at the clinic for two-and-a-half weeks,' Jewel reveals to WHO. 'I’m now a day patient going through a cognitive behaviour therapy program to help with my agoraphobia and my anxiety.'
Now, the 35-year-old explains that she’s since been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
'These things aren’t fixed overnight,' Jewel says. 'It takes time with psychotherapy, but I feel like I have a plan now and I’ve got really good support.'
When discussing what caused her mental health to spiral, the author tells WHO 'everything stems back down to being on the show.'
'If I was offered support back when the show was airing, maybe things wouldn’t have spiralled so far out of control, if I was given a support network early on.'
Earlier this year, Tracey's boyfriend at the time Patrick Kedemos 'dumped' her and left her stranded in Berlin.
‘I went into a head spin,’ the tearful reality star told New Idea in an exclusive interview at the time. ‘I just didn’t see a way out of the current situation.’
‘I’ve been bullied and cyber-trolled relentlessly, pretty much all year,’ she explains, adding the online trolling became particularly bad when she was touring Australia with her book.
‘I’m not someone who has a history of depression, but I started getting help in April because the psychologist said I might have post-traumatic stress disorder because of everything I’d been through.’
