She may be ready to have a baby, but the former Married At First Sight star is not ready to date.
‘I’m not dating at the moment,’ she admits to New Idea. ‘I’m really just so excited by all the opportunities, and I’m so happy I’m able to have a platform where I can share my life and my story. I’ve had a lot of up and down times in my life, and people can really relate to the fact I haven’t had an easy road.
'But having said that, I have learnt through every setback to get back up and keep trying to move forward. When you’re a young woman, you expect your life to turn out a certain way. And it didn’t for me. I am not married with three kids right now – my life took a different turn. When the time is right, I am sure that will happen.’
Recently, the reality star opened up about the decision to freeze her eggs.
She says, 'As I enter my 40s, I’m so grateful for all my pitfalls & triumphs which have ultimately shaped me into the happy, strong, confident, resilient & intelligent woman that I’ve become. I know my self-worth & I feel now that I don’t need to prove myself to anyone, anymore.
'I always dreamed I’d be a mother but my life didn’t go to plan whilst dealing with health issues, personal setbacks, pursuing my career & making poor choices on the wrong men in relationships. I’m still asked daily ‘When are you having a baby?’ Trust me; it’s always on my mind & my biological clock is ticking so loudly that at times it’s deafening. I’ve now faced the harsh reality that my fertility isn’t eternal & my dream of motherhood is diminishing with each day that passes.
'Hence, I’ve made an informed & heartfelt decision for myself to undergo the freezing of my eggs as the very first medical step before IVF in my journey to motherhood.
'I still hope to meet a wonderful man soon & create a beautiful life & family together but in the mean time I’ve taken this hugely important & pre-emptive step as a single woman as a way to control my own destiny for myself just in case the ‘traditional path’ doesn’t eventuate for me.
'Science is an incredibly helpful friend & I see this purely as an insurance policy against regret for my own future fertility. I’m so proud that I’ve done everything humanly possible up until this point to preserve my fertility so that one day soon I will be able to call upon my own egg reserves to begin the next steps in my journey to motherhood. I will continue to share my journey with my loyal & loving family, friends & followers who I would also love to sincerely thank from the bottom of my heart for their ongoing support.'
