In recent days Married At First Sight has been rocked by a cheating scandal between Sam Ball and Ines Basic leaving their respective spouses Elizabeth and Bronson in the lurch.
The explosive storyline has been likened to last season's affair involving Dean Wells and Davina Rankin, but 26-year-old Sam wants to quash any comparisons once and for all.
Speaking to E! Online, the tradie said his behaviour is "different".
"From what I know, Dean lied to Tracey the whole time, whereas I feel like this is different because I was quite honest with Elizabeth from the start," he explained.
The part-time model went on to stress how uncomfortable he felt with the clandestine situation, and said he "made that clear to Ines" by telling her "this is not right".
The New South Wales hunk defended his actions saying he was unhappy with bride Elizabeth and felt it was unfair to expect participants to be stuck with an ill-matched partner.
Sam's comments come after Bosnian-born Ines flirtatiously reached out to him via Instagram DM on Monday night's installment of the social experiment.
A text exchange ensued with Ines inviting Sam to "meet up in the sauna" and later to the apartment she shares with former stripper Bronson.
In scenes aired on Tuesday Sam shocked viewers by accepting the invitation and enjoying a suggestive chat with the 28-year-old legal assistant on her sofa.
