“She didn’t care because she never liked Mick,” the source continues. “In fact, Jess actually had the hots for Sam too so there was a bit of a love triangle going on between her, Sam and Ines there for a while, so her attention was not on Mick whatsoever.”
The source continues: “What people didn’t see was that Lauren and Mick actually spent a lot of time chatting and getting to know each other at the dinner parties.”
“And they really hit it off, probably better than any of the other couples on the show. They had such great banter, were both from the country and could really just make each other laugh. There’s no doubt Mick had more in common with Lauren than Jess and really, they should have been matched together from the start.”
New Idea understands the couple have been keeping their secret romance under wraps and plan to come clean once Mick and Jessika leave the experiment in a few weeks’ time. “Obviously they don’t want to let the cat out of the bag too early because Mick is still on the show and producers would absolutely flip out,” our insider explains.
“But Lauren has definitely told those closest to her about him and she is smitten.”
Meanwhile, if social media is anything to go by, the pair are certainly in touch, constantly liking each other’s posts and subtly flirting with one another.
“Such a LAD,” Lauren recently commented on a photo Mick shared. “Get on it,” she wrote on another where Mick is seen relaxing on his farm.”
