After a cringe-inducing wedding where Sam made controversial comments about his bride's weight and admitted he didn't want to consummate their relationship, matters did not improve for the ill-fated couple.
The morning after their nuptials the 26-year-old tradie had some devastating news for Elizabeth.
"I've just found out my ex-partner's mum has passed away, and she wants me to go to the funeral," he revealed.
Without hesitation, the 27-year-old store manager assured him he should go - but with the memorial taking place in New Zealand, Sam was unable to go on honeymoon with his new bride.
Speaking on Fitzy & Wippa, Elizabeth admitted she regretted not going on honeymoon by herself.
Asked if Sam stayed in touch with her after missing out on the romantic getaway, Elizabeth hinted she received radio silence from her groom.
"He's really in his own world," she said.
The New South Wales native also expressed doubt about Sam's motives for appearing on the Channel 9 social experiment indicating he was in it for fame, not love.
Quizzed about potential romances with other contestants, Elizabeth remained coy but revealed she was physically attracted to Bronson.
The bubbly blonde blasted the former stripper's bride Ines for her criticism of his past profession, branding the Bosnian-born beauty "unfair" and remarking: "She's definitely different."
But despite reports that Sam leaves his wife for legal assistant Ines, Elizabeth shot down speculation about a liaison between her and Bronson.
"I'm not someone to do the husband swap - it's not my personality," she said.
She also teased there would be tension between her and the other brides, stating: "I'm definitely not a wall flower."
Although she failed to find love on MAFS, Elizabeth proved she looks at life with a glass half full perspective.
"Always turn a negative into a positive - it means you know what kind of people to avoid now," she said.
