Onscreen, the Queensland local can do no wrong, wooing his TV wife Susan, publicly defending controversial contestant Cheryl and offering solid relationship advice to other grooms on the show.
‘Sean has been a fan favourite from the start,’ says an insider. ‘People really held out hope for him, and truly believed he was looking for love.’ But according to our well-placed source, Sean was using the show to raise his own profile and was simply playing a role.
‘Sean was bored of his life working in the mines, and he had been trying to get into acting for a while,’ reveals the insider. ‘He wanted a change and he was single so he gave it a shot.’
While he didn’t expect to have such strong feelings for his new wife, our source says that Sean’s number one priority was always fame.
‘He did fall for Susan, and that made it easier to create the romantic love story to keep viewers hooked,’ says the insider.
