With the show suffering it's poorest ratings in years, Peter took to Twitter to take a swipe.
'Something will have to break. It cannot go on, in the current form past Chrissie, surely,' he wrote.
'I have followed the numbers closely. Today would not have been this low for at least ten years.'
But the tweets were then mysteriously deleted, with Peter later claiming the whole thing was a accident - his own version of Karl Stefanovic's Ubergate.
The ratings decline at Today has been big news, following Lisa's shock departure and Karl's string of personal scandals, including his marriage split and the Ubergate drama.
