Lily Allen has revealed she suffers from bipolar disorder.
Following a Twitter spat with several fellow social media users, the British pop star confessed to being a sufferer of the potentially crippling mental illness, as well as admitting to suffering from post traumatic stress disorder after her son was stillborn in 2010.
The shock revelation came about after the 31-year-old star engaged fans in a discussion about the treatment of pensioners.
When told by another user that he felt she had mental health illness, she replied: ‘I DO have mental health issues. Bi-polar, postnatal depression, and PTSD, does that make my opinion void?’
Going into further detail about the traumatic stillbirth of her son, Lily explained:
‘I lay in a hospital bed with my deceased son stuck between my legs halfway out of my body for ten hours.’
Having spoken about her postnatal depression following the births of her two young daughters, Ethel, five, and Marnie, four, Lily has displayed increasingly erratic behavior over the years, with fans often accusing her of being drunk in public.
She has previously lashed out at the British government for the lack of funding available for mental health sufferers.
