Rumoured hopefuls include former Miss World Courtney Thorpe, last years Bachelor runner-up Lana Jeavons-Fellows and newly single Louise Pillidge. While the show’s executive producer, Hilary Innes from Channel Ten, refused to deny Pillidge could be involved she did remark on the record breaking number of interested parties!

“The fact that so many people are so keen to be involved and put themselves in the box seat to be honest without us knowing anything about it is actually a huge compliment. The interest has been so widespread that we’ve even had a couple of minor celebrities putting their hands up.”

Considering it has launched a very successful career for previous Bachelorette, Sam Frost, it’s no wonder there are a lot of hands in the air. Innes was able to dish on what the network is looking for from the lucky lady. Hopeful candidates should be “warm, likeable, real and approachable” and take note of this selection criteria!

“First and foremost is an authenticity,” she said. “They have to want to find love and it has to be the number one priority in their life. The next thing is they need to be real and we need to be able to connect with them and feel we can hang out with them for a lot of hours. And enjoy hanging out with them. We want to hope, like (new Bachelor) Richie Strahan that they will find someone.”
