Maybe you’ve heard of micellar water. Maybe not. But even if you have heard of this strange-sounding French product you may not know just how amazing it really is. And if not, it’s high time you did. Not because we think you need to broaden your beauty knowledge – but because this stuff is genuinely epic.
So first of all what the heck is micellar water? Here’s a basic rundown for you. If you’ve seen it at the pharmacy or department store then you’ll already know that this famed French product looks like water and feels like it too, but it offers far more.
But first – that name. Turns out it’s called micellar water because it contains tiny molecules called micelles. Apparently, micelles are attracted to dirt particles. Once they connect to said dirt particles they cling tight and break them down. Accordingly, if you soak a cotton ball or pad in micellar water and gently swipe it all over your face, you’ll have skin that feels soft and smooth and is seriously clean too. And you do NOT have to rinse it off either.
This means you can cleanse your face (and thoroughly too) while curled up in bed, riding the bus to work (not that we recommend it) or during your fave TV series.
But wait – there’s more! Many micellar waters also contain skin-boosting ingredients of some kind so that you don’t just get a thorough cleanse but also hydration, toning, soothing and so on. All you need to do is choose the right micellar water for you. And one last thing – this stuff isn’t even particularly expensive.
All in all – a winner. Here, our current favourites.
