Meet the adorable miracle twin pandas

The second cub was detected more than one week after the first was found!

As if a single baby panda isn’t gorgeous enough!

A giant Chinese panda has naturally given birth to twins in Austria, said to be a rare occurrence among the endangered species.

Arriving on August 7 and measuring around 15cm in length each, the tiny pandas were born at Vienna’s Schoenbrunn Zoo.

The baby pandas’ mother Yang Yang was intitially believed to have given birth to a single cub after the birth took place in a dark box.

The miracle second cub was detected via an infrared camera more than a week later.

Zoologist Eveline Dungl says, ‘The cubs have little round bellies and panda mummy Yang Yang is very relaxed.’

She adds, ‘You rarely see them because Yang Yang constantly warms them between her paws… What you can hear very clearly are their suckling and grunting noises when she feeds or licks them.’
