On first glance you might not recognise Mayim Bialik and Marcie Leeds, but they are the original cast members from the heartbreaking movie Beaches.
As a dedication to the movie’s late director Garry Marshall, who died last month, Bialik and Leeds reenacted a scene from the movie, 28 years after its release.
While the reenactment is more of a parody than a tribute, it is still a lot of fun.
The reunion, published on Bialik’s YouTube channel, has so far been viewed almost 200,000 times. The two hadn’t seen each other in decades because of Leeds’ decision to quit acting.
‘After Beaches, I did an episode of Parenthood with Leonardo DiCaprio,’ Leeds told Bialik in an interview for Grok Nation. ‘That was the first time I had kissed anyone and it was actually really heavy and weird for me, so I decided that having to deal with stuff like that was not what I wanted to do.’
