The only diet that works – Celeb trainer explains.

'Food is key.'

For some supermodels, the only person worth asking about fitness and diet is trainer-to-the-stars, Justin Gebland.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Gebland claims that when it comes to getting his A-list clients – including Karlie Kloss, Irina Shayk, Erin Heatherton, and Candice Swanepoel – into shape it’s all about what you eat.

Which is why Gebland advocates the Paleo diet.

Also nicknamed the ‘caveman’ diet, the meal options are low-carb and high in fats. It eschews all processed food in favour of nutrient-dense fresh fruits and vegetables,  meat, nuts and seeds. No grains, no beans, no dairy, no refined sugar.

This diet, he says is key to weight loss – not starvation through fad diets like juice cleanses.

Food is key to energy,’ he says.

While many people applaud the paleo approach, including actress Jessica Biel, it is not free from criticism.

The University of Melbourne and Nutrition & Diabetes have both stated that following a low-carb high-fat diet can create a weight increase and other health complications.

The University of Houston’s Laboratory of Integrative Research, however, found that there was evidence to support the paleo diet as beneficial to heart health.
