1. White Spots (Milia)

Raised white spots commonly found around
the nose, cheeks and eyelids occur when keratin becomes trapped underneath the skin.
Treatment: Using exfoliating products containing retinols and
AHAs will help prevent
more milia from developing.

2. Dark Patches (Hyperpigmentation)

Hyperpigmentation is caused
by excess melanin production
in the skin’s upper layers, normally as a result of sun exposure or hormones.
Treatment: Prevent it by using a quality sunscreen. In-salon and home care options range from
lasers to peels and
topical treatments.

3. Red Blotches

Flushing can be caused by conditions such as dermatitis and rosacea.
Treatment: See an expert for an accurate diagnosis. Dermatitis may require a mild hydrocortisone cream. If it’s rosacea, you might need in-
salon laser or IPL treatments, as well as skincare products containing niacinamide.

4. Blind Pimples

These painful, deep acne lesions are the result of overproduction of sebum and clogged pores. They may appear due to hormonal changes, bacteria infection or build-up of dead skin cells.
Treatment: Don’t pick! Instead use a cleanser and spot treatment containing salicylic acid or tea tree oil to exfoliate the skin and target the inflammation.

5. Overly Sensitive Skin

Skin may suddenly become uncomfortable or itchy due to environmental conditions, allergies or
from being very dry.
Treatment: To keep
skin nourished without irritating, use hydrating products free from fragrance and alcohol.
