1. Keep your eyes bright

Tired eyes go hand in hand
with festivities. ‘Fine lines appear if you’re tired or dehydrated, and puffiness quickly shows,’ says The
Perfect Cosmetics Company managing director Penny Lane.

Quick Fix: ‘Avoid concealer. Sometimes it enhances puffiness, lines and bags. Instead, use a cream that temporarily brightens, compresses puffiness and smooths fine lines,’ Penny says.

Use: My Perfect Eyes, $99,
or $148.50 for two bottles and a free My Perfect Brows Kit. Divorce star Sarah Jessica Parker loves this!

Prevention: ‘Sip water throughout the party, before
bed and when you wake. Sleep with your head elevated so fluid doesn’t accumulate,’ Penny says.

2. Smooth sailing

Dehydration, late nights and salty foods make facial furrows appear deeper.

Quick Fix: ‘A “wrinkle filling” cream can temporarily plump
up lines and subtract the years
that last night’s party added,’ advises Penny.

Use: Dr LeWinn’s Line Smoothing Complex Corrective Line Filler, $69.95, Revlon Age Defying Wrinkle Filler, $26.95, or Kiehl’s Double Strength Deep Wrinkle Filler, $74.

Prevention: ‘Skip salty snacks. Avoid food containing gluten because even if you’re
not intolerant, it can slow down your digestion and the uptake of essential vitamins and minerals, which can cause fatigue and dehydration,’ she says.

3. Stay glowing

Endless parties can make your complexion appear sallow and tired. Stress plays a part too.

Quick Fix: ‘Exfoliate twice weekly. Apply a cream that “blurs” imperfections,’
Penny says.

Use: Skin Doctors Gamma Hydroxy, $49.95, or Freezeframe BB Blur, $49.

Prevention: ‘Cleanse before bed, no matter what,’ she
says. ‘Take a vitamin B supplement – alcohol zaps
your vitamin B, leaving skin
dull, dry, and irritated.’

4. Perfect your pout

Party season stress and dehydration can cause
you to purse your lips,
making them look thin.

Quick Fix: Freezeframe
Lip Injection, $59, or My Perfect Lips, pack
of three, $99.

Prevention: ‘Don’t drink through a straw – it can
cause lines around your
mouth,’ Penny says. ‘And watch alcohol
intake. Lips dry out
when they come into
contact with it.’
