Don’t say yes
to everything

You’re expected to cook for an end-of-year party, you’ve been asked to work extra shifts and you’ve got at least 10 different Christmas events to attend. If you have trouble saying ‘no’, this could be why you feel exhausted. Dr Holly Phillips – author of The Exhaustion Breakthrough – says we need to delegate responsibilities to other family members or co-workers, and set limits with other people.

Let it all out

Feeling stressed, angry or frustrated?
That could be why you’re feeling tired all the time. Exhaustion can manifest mentally. The answer is to vent. According to Harvard Medical School’s Dr Anthony Komaroff, discussing negative feelings with another person releases them and they won’t drain you as much. Vent to a friend, a counsellor or write it down.

Add some Turmeric

It’s the vibrantly coloured super spice that keeps on giving! Not only is it great for its pain-relieving qualities, turmeric also contains an active ingredient called curcumin that improves mental function and boosts your overall energy levels, according to several studies. Try the new Pukka Turmeric Gold Tonic
in your salads and smoothies,
or simply mix
it into a glass
of water.

Get moving for
15 minutes

When you feel tired, the last thing you want to do is exercise. But in a University of Georgia study, sedentary yet healthy adults who began exercising lightly three days a week for as little as 20 minutes reportedly had more energy after six weeks. Always have
water on hand

It’s easy to forget, but the reason you may be tired can be down to one simple answer – not enough H2O. A recent study from Tufts University found that mild dehydration was enough to impair thinking,
so stay hydrated, especially
over the summer months.
