Gwyneth Paltrow reveals her crazy expensive nighttime skincare routine

Get ready to be shocked!

She’s known for her love of all-things natural and her dedication to an organic lifestyle, but when it comes to skincare Gwyneth Paltrow is all about luxury.

And we’re not talking the odd expensive moisturises but a collection of serious, hard-core, legit luxury items used on the daily.

You see, as it turns out, while Gwyneth might follow a relatively simple skincare regime, it is made up of wildly expensive items.

And while we don’t want to cast aspersions on the state of your finances, her bathroom beauty cabinet is stocked with the kind of beauty items that we (and we’re guessing probably you too) can only dream about.

Still, the woman does look incredible so hey, maybe she’s onto something. And further, maybe we should all be giving it go?

Before we make that decision, however, let’s have a look at what actress and brand-new bride Gwyneth uses, plus when, and even a little bit of how.

In the latest edition of Harper’s Bazaar’s “Go to Bed With Me” series, we learn that the one-time fiance of Brad Pitt likes to kick off her evening with a pre-shower dry skin-brushing session. Not surprisingly she opts for her the brush sold on her own website. It’s $20 US which is not too, too expensive we guess.

Once in the shower, she relies on her ‘two favourite G.Tox products’, the Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub Shampoo, $42 US, which cleanses your scalp without drying it out — and the G.Tox 5 Salt Detox Body Scrub, $40 US.

Next up, a light layer of GOOP Instant Exfoliating Facial Mask, $125 US. This sweet number brightens and softens skin leaving it soft and supple. Gwyneth gives it extra oomph but rubbing it into her skin and then, removing any excess with a heated towel.

Next up Gwyneth applies a drop or three of the cult classic Dr Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum, $270 AU. That price is for the 30ml bottle by the way. The 50ml version is closer to $500 meaning that it comes in at roughly $10 per ml. If you ever get your hands on any be careful with it!

Heck knows you do not want to spill any. Next, a pat of Dr Barbara Sturm Eye Cream, $200 AU. I’ve not actually tried this one but I must admit, I have it on good authority that it’s worth every penny. Fingers crossed you get a healthy tax return or a windfall of some kind and get to try it.

Gwyneth loves a body butter or oil to keep her skin smooth and soft. Her favourite is Beauty Counter Body Butter in Citrus Mimosa, $39 US. At nighttime though, she says she often skips that step and instead pops on a swipe of lip balm and that is that.

Finally Gwyneth indulges in the one beauty treatment we can all afford. Sleep.

It’s definitely not as luxurious as the rest of Gwyneth’s routine, but truth be told, it is the most powerful beauty booster there is. Plus – it costs nothing at all.
