1. Dress up your skin with highlighters

‘Apply lightly across cheekbones or brow bones, but never both. Keep it subtle or it can add years to your look, rather than creating a “lit-from-within” glow. If you’re wearing a low-cut top, you can blend a little across your collarbones or into your cleavage.’

(a) Napoleon Perdis Blush Bronze High Delight Palette, $89.
(b) ModelCo Highlighting Trio, $22.

2. Create a Golden Eye

‘Festive gold shadow suits all eye colours and skin shades. Blend it across your upper eyelid, taking it no higher than the crease of the lid. Then use
a fine brush to smudge a little below
the lower lashes, staying close to them.’
(a) Bobbi Brown Sequin Eye Shadow
in Golden Chocolate or Prosecco, $52.
(b) Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art
in Topaz Twinkle, $21.95.

3. Add a full, dark lip

‘A bold lip finishes any festive make-up beautifully! Choose
a red or burgundy shade.’
(a) Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Chunkiest Chili, Grandest Grape or Roomiest Rose, $36 each.
(b) Natio Smoothie Lip Colour Crayon in Holly, $12.95.

4. Try festive eyeliner

‘Go for gold, and either wing it out over the top lash line or run along the lower lashes – never both.’
(a) Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Liquid Liner in Golden Bronze Sparkle, $46.
(b) E.L.F Cosmetics Cream Eyeliner in Golden or Copper, $8 each.

5. Put on some
false lashes

‘Forget piling new mascara over day-old mascara – enlist single lashes! Add a tiny drop of lash glue to the back of your hand, run the tip of the lash over it and apply to the outer lashes. Repeat until you get to the middle of the eye.’
(a) M.A.C 30 Lash, $18.

(b) 1000 Hour Individual Lashes, $9.49.
