1. Don’t Panic
Chances are, at some point you’ll have a bad day, a bad week or even a bad month! Accept what has happened, re-focus on looking ahead, and don’t beat yourself up.

2. Separate Fact From Fiction
Get to the logical reason WHY this might have happened. ‘This is time to be very honest with yourself, if I came to live with you, ate with you, trained with you, would you do anything differently?’

3. Shift Your Mindset
Change your mind and watch the outcomes shift too. Make some time to sit down and evaluate your headspace. Instead of thinking, ‘I’ve eaten a packet of biscuits every night this week’, reframe it to, ‘My eating habits haven’t made me feel great, so what can I do to change this habit and make myself feel better?’ This process really will make a difference.

4. Look at This as a Chance to Grow
Challenges are a great opportunity to remember the power of your mindset, and to revisit existing goals, or set yourself some new ones. See this setback as a valuable lesson to learn from.

5. Get Moving
Get those trainers on and go for a long walk or workout session. You’ll have those endorphins pumping and get some fresh air, helping clear your head and shift to a more positive mindset.

6. Know You’re Not Alone
No matter how much you’re struggling right now, know there are plenty of other people going through similar struggles. Find comfort in the fact that others before you have been through this challenging time and found a way forward. You can too!

7. Pick Yourself Up
Poor decisions and actions often come from feeling off track. No matter what caused your setback, focus on moving forward – not back. Is there a lesson you can learn from the experience? Great. Then move on.

8. Make a Plan!
Set yourself up for success by planning your next week of meals, prepping healthy dishes, and getting to bed early. Put time for exercise in your diary and stick to it.

9. Know You’re a Work in Progress
Becoming the best version of yourself is an ongoing process. It’s all about showing up, being consistent, and building healthy habits. If you’re doing that, despite a few setbacks, you’re winning!

10. JFDI!
One of my favorite sayings is “JFDI – Just Frickin’ Do It!”. The quicker you get back to consistent, healthy choices, the sooner you’ll be back on track and in control. So take a deep breath, shake it off, and JFDI!
