Stop what you’re doing right now because Elle Macpherson is dishing her beauty secrets.
One of the main confessions from the 52-year-old supermodel is that she hides behind a pair of sunglasses because she doesn’t like makeup.
Speaking to People magazine, the Aussie superstar said: “I don’t wear make-up at all.
“That’s why there are so many pictures of me with sunglasses on! Honestly, I don’t love the look of my skin bare, but I feel it’s best for it.
“I want to experiment with trends, but as I’ve become wiser, I’ve realized that less is more.”
Macpherson also warned against the sun and wished she used SPF sunscreen instead of baby oil.
“Of course I think about lines. There have been times in my life when I have tried really hard to get rid of them [like with fillers], and it doesn’t work. So I tend to leave all that alone as much as possible. Ultimately I think nutrition, sleep, love, laughter and water is the most magical recipe for a beautiful face.
“[But] I wish somebody had told me that the most important tool was sunblock. I grew up in Australia in the ’70s, when you used baby oil and a reflecting board to get as tan as possible because that was cool. Now I wear SPF 50 on my face, my chest and my hands and get checked regularly.”
Elle AKA “The Body” concludes by saying her skimpy bikini days are long gone.
“I don’t prance around in a bikini anymore, or a one-piece, or cut off shorts, or very short dresses. At this point I like to keep it simple and not adhere to any trends. That’s the secret–the beauty of a woman as she matures is not how she tries to look younger but how she adapts to her new found maturity.”
