Here’s the deal. All stores, from the big glossy department versions to the pharmacy chains, have sales each and every season.

If you wait you will score a bargain – guaranteed.

Priceline regularly holds sales where the prices of top-selling brands are slashed by a solid 40 and sometimes even 50 per cent.

Sign up to the store’s Sister Club and you’ll hear about these sales before anyone else. You’ll also get access to other Sister Club member discounts, treats and offers.

Same goes for department stores such as David Jones and Myer which both discount luxe brands both mid-year and in the famed boxing-day sales.

The prestige brands that are sold there also regularly offer gift packs or gifts with purchase, a great way to snag a bargain and save a bunch.

Consider a store loyalty card such as Fly Buys which operates out of Myer.

Rack up enough points and you can snaffle your beauty buys for free!

Then, there’s the concept of only spending your hard-earned cash on particular beauty items.

You see, some beauty buys are not worth spending big money on – EVER. That’s right – EVER.

The same theory works in reverse of course. Certain items should never be skimped on.
