She’s an acclaimed actress, hosts a wildly-successful cooking show and is an ambassador for the beauty brand COVERGirl so it stands to reason that Ayesha Curry pays attention to how she looks.
The wife of American pro basketballer Steph Curry, Ayesha is papped wherever she goes and so makes a habit of looking incredible whenever she leaves the house.
She says she wants to look as pretty as possible and fair enough. But that’s not the only reason Ayesha likes to wear a full face of makeup.
The mother of three is not afraid to admit she’s a beauty junkie.
She loves makeup! And fair enough.
I’ve been known to get damn excited about the stuff myself. But back to Ayesha.
Given her makeup junkie status, it was confronting when she was asked to appear in a new beauty campaign which was to be completely unfiltered and un-retouched.
“I was so scared,” she told US Weekly.
“I was a new mom so I pumping and nursing, then there was that fear of the baby weight being on.”
And Ayesha suffers both hyperpigmentation and acne, both of which added to her insecurities.
But once she had her favourite makeup applied the mother of three was ready to face the world.
“I loved that I could use makeup as a tool to get myself to a point where I liked the way it looked,” she said. “I felt confident and didn’t have to retouch the pictures.”
The images from the shoot, which are part of a campaign by CVS Beauty, are stunning.
Ayesha’s beautiful eyes are mesmerising and her pout is beyond perfect.
The 29-year-old looks incredible. Part of that beauty is down to confidence, she says.
That self belief came from her own mother, says Ayesha.
“She’s never changed a thing about herself and I love that about my mom,” she revealed.
And she hopes to raise her own three children to feel confident and happy when they look in the mirror.
“I want them to know they’re beautiful as they are and to use [makeup] as a tool to enhance that beauty not to alter it.”
